       Joel Eel’s sophmore album, Performing a Crime is a romantic record for the dance floor. It explores how the modern concept of love, can feel criminal. Through a series of misunderstandings become elevated  — the flight of emotional reactions, overpowering the intent.

Tenderness over time becomes forgotten and it’s relationship to love no longer associated, the imagination distorted. Social media lends a hand to simplify the framing — we “unfollow” as an opposite to care.
